The Whitney Museum has an expansive,
open-plan architecture feature.
Large, unobstructed spaces create
a flexible foundation for exhibition design,
while movable walls allow each show
to reshape and adapt the spatial layout.
An analysis of the museum’s window proportions
and ceiling light rails informed the development
of a modular grid system. From this structure,
a custom typeface was created using exclusively
90-degree angles and straight lines.
